The phases of development

Since its inception Tergestea has concentrated on shipping and distributing goods – food products a speciality – throughout Europe.

Traffic agreements concerning transit via Trieste were drawn up with the state forwarding agents of Albania, Czechoslovakia and Hungary, and we are also agents for numerous German, Austrian and Dutch forwarders

The Seventies saw further important developments: the setting up of trust deposits in the Free Port on behalf of pharmaceutical industries, and the organising of storage and distribution throughout the national territory of sugar and other food products arriving at Trieste by sea.

Among Tergestea's more significant attainments are its appointment as Shipping Trustee for the “Istituto Brasilero do Cafè” and as "Shipping Correspondent" for American Express.

In the Late Fifties the company's achievement grew as it began to specialise in numerous commodity sectors, and at the same time provide an increasingly punctual, professional service attuned to market requirements.
