1919
Giulio Valenzin begins as an employee, then as a manager, in the “Innocente Mangili Company” – later to become S.A.I.M.A., one of the most prestigious forwarding companies of the age.
1939
He sets up a separate company which, thanks to the acquisition of new clients and an increase in turnover, is soon transformed into a limited company: TERGESTEA Ltd. (from the Latin “ Tergestum ”, the ancient name for the city of Trieste).
1946
In the post-war era, with the resumption of commercial sea traffic, the company begins to expand its original business.
1948
Giorgio Valenzin joins the management of the company.
1972
Sees the completion in Trieste of a warehouse designed exclusively for the storage of coffee; it is the first investment of the kind made by a private company inside the Free Port.
1979
Tergestea celebrates its 40 th Anniversary with the entrance into the company of Guido Valenzin, grandson of the founder. Representing the third generation of entrepreneurs at the head of the firm, he continues consolidating the global position of the company
1998
The company gains the quality system certification according to the UNI ISO EN 9002, later transformed into Vision 2000 in 2003
1999 onwards
The company establishes its presence in the main ports where it operates.
